I draw with prisma color pencils when I am traveling or wanting to capture an image quickly without using paint. Pencil and paper are easily carried in my car, or my hand. The drawings, when complete, are matted and framed. I don't own cats, and I don't see them as pets. My cat drawings are of a wild cat that adopted my husband, when we lived in a little country house in Elk Falls Kansas, population at the time, sixty. We ended up bringing him with us to Florida when we moved. We gave him to a friend when we moved to a home without land for roaming. The friend moved to Oregon, and the cat is fat, tame, and happy still.
My women drawings express emotion. The viewer can describe it as he or she will.
The mixed media creations are small, 3x5 inches, but are my favorite. They are created with various recycled materials including the paper that was once the back of an old Christmas cards. I used coffee to sprinkle on the paper to stain the surface and wet the tip of my pencil to crush color on the damp surface . Underneath it all is a bit of rubber cement that holds small swigs or other pieces of grass.
